Our Mission
Catalyst Tutoring was founded in 2017 by Dr. Nicole M. Gabriel, Ed.D., with a mission to help underserved students of all ages excel in math and science through Private Tutoring, Academic Success Planning, Standardized Test Prep, and Academic Life Coaching. We have a proven track record of assisting students in passing their academic courses, graduating, and achieving their growth goals on standardized testing.
Some achievements include:

100% of tutees pass their respective science and math courses after consistently engaging in tutoring sessions with Catalyst Tutoring.

Supported 67% of high school students who achieved their growth goal on ACT in one semester.

Exceeded the state growth goal of 65% and achieved 72% growth on the high school science quarterly assessment,

Catalyst Tutoring increased more than 60 students' SAT scores in mathematics by an average of at least 35 points in four months.

86% of students achieved growth on the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) standardized testing in one year.

Dr. Gabriel was extremely patient with me and took her time explaining things to make sure I gained understanding. As a result, I passed my Computer Literacy & Application final exam at South Suburban College with an “A” and earned a “B” overall in the course. I now have my Associate's Degree, and I am a Medical Assistant!

Dr. Gabriel tutored my daughter, Makilah, in 6th through 9th grade math. Makilah started in 6th grade with a “C” in math, but after consistent tutoring sessions, she earned an “A.” She strengthened her foundational math skills and excelled in math independently in high school. Makilah is now a college student at DePaul University.

Dr. Gabriel is a blessing! She worked with my daughter who was struggling in math. She never got above a 70% on test all year. After a couple of sessions with Dr. Gabriel she took a test and scored ~90%- the highest grade she’s gotten all year! She says Dr. Gabriel is so down-to-earth and easy to understand and work with.
